AKWA IBOM ICT COMPETITION 2022

Akwa Ibom ICT competition is a Radio/TV powered competition on Information Technology related subjects. It is an initiative designed to stimulate wider exploitation and discovery of top-range ICT skills from Nigeria’s education curriculum and other international requirements. The competition is organized by Tech Affairs Community, the host of tech-Affairs-on-Radio- a technological enlightenment Radio programme on Passion 94.5FM, with full support from both the Radio and TV arms of the Media house.

AIM/OBJECTIVES

The goal is to bridge Technology Gap, which will serve as a platform to breed ICT whiz-kids of our time and the upcoming generation who will form the nucleus of the captain of our Industry.

Also, to awaken the consciousness of young Akwa Ibomites towards information and communication technology.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students in secondary schools (both private/public) in Akwa Ibom State.

Only accredited applicants will be allowed to take part in the competition.

TIMELINE

Registration which was initially scheduled to end on 15th June 2022, has been extended to 30th June.

The new date for the competition is scheduled for Friday 8th July 2022

The time for the competition is 10 am.

Quiz Coverage

Skills to be promoted include basic computer appreciation, design, and coding/ programming. The questions will come from approved WEAC syllables for computer Studies.

GENERAL MODALITIES

  1. To qualify, interested applicants must currently be enrolled in any secondary (Private/public) school across Akwa Ibom State.
  2. Each school should register at least two (2) applicants to represent the school in the competition.
  3. For solo competitors ( students who are not represented school )
  4. Registration for this competition is free.
  5. Any costs or expenses incurred by entrants for participating in the competition are in the applicant’s account. The organizers will only provide the prize to awardees.
  6. Entry applicants must fill the competition application form online
  7. Entry applicants can also register offline by filling registration form offline.
  8. Applications will be reviewed, and qualified applicants will be shortlisted on all our online platforms. An adequate effort will be made to reach out to shortlisted applicants.
  9. Winners will be officially recognized and awarded at the end of the competition
  10. The decision of the panel of judges is final and is not subject to any form of appeal regarding the selection of finalists.

PRIZES

Prizes will include scholarship ICT training on ICT Courses, cash prizes, certificates, and Computing devices.
